This tourmaline from famous Pederneira offers the relatively seeked after colour combination red and blue. The red portion in this case is a deep purplish red zone towards the termination, the lighter blue is typical for most Pederneira indicolites. Most interestingly, the shape of this elbaite is very similar to the outline of the South American continent, as the triangular main crystal is completed by a side crystal, thereby adding the very southern part including Cape Horn.
